How to Use French Interrogative Pronouns Qui and Que

French has three interrogative pronouns: qui,  que, and lequel, which are used to ask questions. They all have differences in meaning and usage. Note that lequel  is a more complicated case and, as such, is addressed separately. Also, while qui and que are also  relative pronouns,  we are only discussing them here in their function as interrogative pronouns. How to Use Qui   Qui  means  who  or  whom, and it is used when asking about people. Qui as Subject When we want to use qui as the  subject  of the question, meaning  who, you can use either  qui  or  qui est-ce qui. In this case, the word order cannot be inverted, and the verb is always third person singular. Qui veut le faire? / Qui est-ce qui veut le faire?  Who wants to do it? (answer: Pierre wants to do it. Qui refers to Pierre, the subject of the sentence.)Qui parle? / Qui est-ce qui parle?  Who is speaking? (answer: Margot is speaking. Qui refers to Margot, the subject of the sentence.) In the third world country like Bangladesh the amount of users is amazing. Grameenphone holds almost 61% market share of telecom industry that is out of every 10 users 6 belongs to Grameenphone. So GrameenPhone marketing strategy should be â€Å"Profitable growth expanding market share through satisfying existing customers†. A comprehensive survey was conducted to know about GP’s present service condition that is providing to its valued customers. Grameen phone as a market leader in this industry should revise its service packages, quality with more conveniently for the customers. Otherwise, in the long run new innovation services will not give its ultimate success. Introduction GSM technology was introduced in Bangladesh from 26th march 1997 by GrameenPhone. The first year after the GrameenPhone was launched, there were o other operators using the GSM technology. From 1998 Robi started their operation using the same technology to serve the subscribers of Chittagong. With time both the operator extended their coverage and service feature. Within a short period of time SHEBA Telecom joined the market which is now named as Banglalink with a new management called Orascom. GrameenPhone is the market leader having more than 2. 4 million subscribers; Robi is the market follower having 1 million subscribers. Banglalink is also increasing its market share by providing various types of attractive offers to capture the existing market. As the socioeconomic status of the country does not provide further possibilities to increase the growth of the industry, market followers are trying to attract other operator’s subscriber. So, there is an emergence of studying the related factors of the customer loyalty in the context of Bangladesh GSM telecommunication system for GrameenPhone to preserve its’ market share. Statement of the problem In the GSM mobile telephone sector in Bangladesh vast competition has emerged. So, the subscribers now have various alternatives to choose according to their convenience. Therefore, to maintain the leading position in the market GrameenPhone has to identify the factors related to customer satisfaction and loyalty. Purpose of the study The purpose of the study was to present the relationship between service quality, switching cost and trust with customer satisfaction and customer loyalty in GrameenPhone, the leading GSM mobile telephone system in Bangladesh. All the necessary data for this project will be collected by making a survey on people who are using the Grameenphone’s service and also who are working for GrameenPhone by asking them to fill up the questionnaire. Definitions of service quality hold that this is the result of an evaluation process where customers compare their expectations about a service with their perception of the service to be received (Lewis Booms, 1983; Lehtinen Lehtinen, 1982; Gro? roos, 1984; Parasuraman et al. , 1985, 1988, 1994). They also added that service quality can be split into technical quality which means ‘what is done’ and functional quality which means ‘how it is done’. Royscott Trust v Rogerson confirmed in case of tortious damages, remedies for fraudulent misrepresentation is also available for negligent misrepresentation. Chris and Angela can ask damages for this misrepresentation to justice. (Royscott Trust v Rogerson [1991]) In the case concerning the new gas, the misrepresentation is a fraudulent misrepresentation. David knew that the gas central had to be changed, even if he said that he changed the central. Fraudulent misrepresentation is the most difficult to prove. In this case, Chris and Angela can sue and have damages for tort of deceit. The representee will be entitled to a remedy in equity for the fraudulent misrepresentation, and to recover damages in tort for deceit in respect of the fraud. For the wholly innocent misrepresentation about the quiet neighbourhood, the loss of the one party must benefit the other. They are no damages usually for innocent misrepresentation. Chris and Angela do not have many options, because they have no right to claim damages. (William Sindell v Cambridgeshire CC [1994]) We know that the statement about the development in the area in a statement of opinion. David has no facts to support such a position, so this statement is not capable of being a misrepresentation. Chris and Angela can’t do something in this case. Chris and Angela can try a lawsuit for the fraudulent misrepresentation about the new gas central heating system. With the help of a lawyer, they can have some damages: firstly David will have to repay for the new gas, and secondly, for the week that Chris and Angela have spent in hotel. The contract can’t be rescind, so Chris and Angela will keep the house. In fact, the contract is affirmed so it is impossible to rescind it. If they want to sell the house, the price will be lower, taking account the statements.

On Don McCullen essays HND Design Photography I intend in this following essay to show how much of Don McCullins work, throughout his career, represents pictures of people rather than pictures of war, as Edward Steichen said, " the real mission of photography is explaining man to himself ". I feel that a lot of McCullins work is more often about the social circumstances of people, with war and suffering, often, simply a background to the subject of people making the most of things, even though the lions share of these social situations do happen amongst the wars and famines that have blighted the twentieth century. 1 - The first shot I intend to look at is called The Guvnors, a striking picture of post-war youth. This picture started McCullins photographic career. At first glance the picture seems instantly recognisable, Gangsters, catching that rugged style of 50s London that film has often tried to recreate. Although the Guvnors themselves are posed, you instantly see that this is real, sensing that these people are real gangsters. The fact that these young men are pictured not in a nightclub or in the back of a big black jaguar, as is the common stereotype, but in the remains of a bombed out building, with its fallen timber and burnt mattresses, completely stripped of all metals or indeed anything else of any worth, shows a gritty reality which isnt often associated with this kind of person at this time. However, on researching this photo you will find that it is perhaps more significant due to the events surrounding the photo. Don McCullin although not involved in gang life, was friendly with most of the local lads who were. This picture was taken just before a murder in a London nightclub, as it turned out the men in the picture werent directly involved in the murder, but it was published in the Observer anyway. How to use action verbs to make your resume stand out Take a look at your resume. What words jump out at you? If you’re like most people, phrases like â€Å"was responsible for† or â€Å"worked on† are probably in there somewhere. And those phrases are totally†¦fine. But if you want to make your resume stand out from the rest of the people who were responsible for X and worked on Y, one of the easiest places to start is to make your language sparkle a little. Using strong, specific action words can help make your accomplishments seem even more impressive. Using next-level verbs in your resume shows the reader that you put particular care and effort into crafting your resume- your resume should show what you do and indicate to the reader how active and dynamic you are as an employee. Strong action verbs can also help you with non-human readers, or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), as the software may be programmed to look for particular words as indicators of experience. Weak or ordinary verbs will just slip rig ht by the automated eye.This is not to say that every word in your resume needs to be straight out of a thesaurus. If every word is a five-dollar word, that gets repetitive as well. It can also seem very stiff and formal. Instead, use key verbs to punch up your resume writing. Your experience bullets are the best place to use varied words to show what you’ve done. Psychological Theories of Pedophilia and Ephebophilia Essay

The problem of pedophilia and ephebophilia was recently highlighted with the successive scandals involving many catholic priests who allegedly abused children and minors. Although the problem was sensationalized with the recent scandals, it must be noted that it is not limited to the catholic clergy as â€Å"It’s a problem that strikes anywhere, every walk of life, every race, and every social level†. (Richmond, 2009) The article â€Å"Psychological Theories of Pedophilia and Ephebophilia† attempts to explain the underlying theories that explain the said sexual deviant behaviors. It distinguishes the difference between a pedophilia, an adult who has recurrent, intense sexual urges and sexual fantasies involving a prepubescent child below 13 years old and an ephebophilia, who has recurrent, intense sexual urges and sexual fantasies involving a pubescent child or adolescent between the ages 14 and 17 years old. In both cases, the offending adult is at least 5 years older than the victim. A further distinction was made between regressed and fixated pedophiles and ephebophiles. The latter primarily have sexual orientation towards adults and regresses into a sexual urge for children only under extreme duress. The former, on the other hand, are fixated on children and teenagers alone. The article cites earlier studies, such as that from Araji and Finkelhorn which view the theories of pedophilia according to four broad categories: emotional congruence, sexual arousal, blockage and inhibition. At the outset, the article clarifies that that there is no clear and definite pattern of their background. Their religious, vocation, socio-economic, education backgrounds are widely diverse, heterogeneous and complex, thus making it difficult to narrow down the specific characteristics of these offenders. Owing to the diversity of backgrounds of pedophiles and ephebophiles, the author investigates the causes of the disorders by analyzing them using two broad categories, (1. ) the psychological theories including psychic, social and environmental factors, and (2. ) the hypothesized biological strata of the disorder. By taking a multi-faceted approach, one is able to compartmentalize the types of offenders according to above theories, thus making analysis of these disorders more organized, direct, and systematic. Psychological Theories Psychoanalytic theories look at deviant sexual behaviors as stemming from early childhood trauma (ages 2-5 years), causing one’s arrested development and explains why the person eventually becomes the offender and repeats the offense later in adulthood in an attempt to mask the anxiety. Meanwhile, family system theories stresses the role of unresolved intergenerational family dynamics on certain family members which argues that deviant behavior is learned within the family, and eventually, spreads across family lines. Behaviorism and social learning theories stress the importance of learning our behavior. In other words, behavior is learned and acquired through early experiences that either brings guilt or pleasure or both. Biological Theories Biological theories attempt to connect deviant sexual behaviors with brain disease. It attempts to answer 2 basic questions, such as: 1. What effect does the brain have on perverse sexual behavior? 2. Can deviant sexual arousal be attributed to brain disease or damage? More specifically, psychologists have found a strong link between high testosterone levels among males and sexual aggression. Subsequently, studies suggest that the level of testosterone in fetuses can be affected by the mother’s intake of specific drugs and stress. Certain studies do seem to suggest a direct correlation between high levels of testosterone and deviant sexual behavior as proven by high levels of testosterone found among pedophiles and in another study, elevated levels of â€Å"luteinising hormone†. In this respect, an anti-androgenic medication such as Depo Provera lowers the level of testosterone in the human body and has been moderately successful in the treatment of sexually deviant men. In computational linguistics, this discriminative process is called word-sense disambiguation (WSD). Examples and Observations: It so happens that our communication, in different languages alike, allows the same word form to be used to mean different things in individual communicative transactions. The consequence is that one has to figure out, in a particular transaction, the intended meaning of a given word among its potentially associated senses. While the ambiguities arising from such multiple form-meaning associations are at the lexical level, they often have to be resolved by means of a larger context from the discourse embedding the word. Hence the different senses of the word service could only be told apart if one could look beyond the word itself, as in contrasting the players service at Wimbledon with the waiters service in Sheraton. Educational toys, games, and books may appear to be luxuries, and parents may not have the time, energy, or knowledge to find innovative and less-expensive ways to foster young childrens development. Furthermore,( Ominde, S.H 1964) observes that even in families with above average income parents often lack the time and energy to invest fully in their childrens preparation for school, and they sometimes face a limited array of options for high-quality child care both before their children start school and during the early school years. Kindergarten teachers throughout the country report that children are increasingly arriving at school inadequately prepared. Families with low socioeconomic status often lack the financial, social, and educational supports that characterize families with high socioeconomic status. Poor families also may have inadequate or limited access to community resources that promote and support childrens development and school readiness. Parents may have inadequate skills for such activities as reading to and with their children, and they may lack information about childhood immunizations and nutrition. Lareau, Annette (2004) state that low maternal education and minority-language status are most consistently associated with fewer signs of emerging literacy and a greater number of difficulties in preschoolers. Having inadequate resources and limited access to available resources can negatively affect families decisions regarding their young childrens development and learning. As a result, children from families with low socioeconomic status are at greater risk of entering kindergarten unprepared than their peers from families with median or high socioeconomic status. Amutabi, M.A (2003) says that the impact of socioeconomic status on children’s readiness for school: while the segregating nature of social class, ethnicity, tradition may well reduce the variety of enriching experience through to be prerequisite for creating readiness to learn among children activates. Similarly, cast ethnic value, housing, neighborhood and access to resource that directly or indirectly affect enrichment or deprivation as well as the acquisition of specific value system (iii)The student’s academic performance as well as social adjustment Academic performance of students in the classroom is very important as this is capable of determining whether the student is doing well or not. Parents, Teachers, School Administrators attach so much importance to students’ academic performance that if the students are not performing well academically, then they see all other efforts of the students in the school programme as a total waste. Academic performance for the student is also seen as the extent to which a student has achieved his educational goals (Wikipedia, 2012-2014). 1.3 Statement of the problems According to study published in 2001 issue of Psychological Science found that children of parents with a high socioeconomic status tended to express more disengagement behaviors than their less fortunate peers. In this context, disengagement behaviors represent actions such as fidgeting with other objects and drawing pictures while being addressed. Other participants born into less favored circumstances tended to make more eye contact, nods as signs of happiness when put into an interactive social environment. The more fortuitous peers felt less inclined to gain rapport with their group because they saw no need for their assistance in the future. However, Socio-economic status can be measured in a number of different ways. The prime things that commonly it is measured by father’s education, occupation and income. All familys socioeconomic status is based on family income, parental education level, parental occupation, and social status in the community such as contacts within the community, group associations, and the communitys academic performance of the family, while families with high socioeconomic status often have more success in preparing their young children for school because they typically have access to a wide range of resources to promote and support young childrens development in day to day life. They are able to provide their young children with high- quality child care, books, and toys to encourage children in various learning activities at home but lack in poor ones. While its carry both types such as closed ended as well as open ended questions and they are self administered. All around 95 of questionnaires ware distributed in different block of the University. Secondary data were collected by the appropriated data sources including news paper, books, journals, and activities both published and un-published data sources. Therefore, the data were collected by the method of snow ball survey as well as self distributed. Generally I followed this methods because it was save my time and costs. Jakob Boehme Jakob Boehme (1575-1624) was a German religious mystic from the town of Goerlitz (Zgorzelec in Polish) in Silesia, on the Polish side of the Oder river just across from eastern Germany. A cobbler by profession, he was an autodidact much influenced by Paracelsus, the Kabbala, astrology, alchemy, and the Hermetic tradition (Peuckert, 1924 101; Merkel 302-310; Hvolbel 6-17). He experienced a seminal religious epiphany in 1600, when a ray of sunlight reflected in a pewter dish catapulted him into an ecstatic vision of the Godhead as penetrating all existence, including even the Abyss of Non-being. This and other mystical experiences caused Boehme to write a series of obscure but powerful religious treatises. According to him, negativity, finitude, and suffering are essential aspects of the Deity, for it is only through the participatory activity of his creatures that God achieves full self-consciousness of his own nature. Boehme's first treatise, entitled Aurora, or Die Morgenroete im Aufgang (1612), expressed his insights in an abstruse, oracular style. This work aroused profound interest among a small circle of followers, but it also provoked the heated opposition of the authorities. After being prosecuted by the local pastor of Goerlitz, Boehme had to promise on pain of imprisonment to cease writing. This judgment he obeyed for five years, until, unable to restrain himself any longer, he began writing again in secret for private circulation among friends. The publication of his Weg zu Christo (Way to Christ) in 1623 by one of these friends led to renewed persecutions. The Amish way of life has many interesting concepts and unique beliefs that set them apart from any other culture. While some may see the Amish way of life as a cult, there simplistic way of life and there family values and beliefs make them one of the strongest sects in today’s society. II. The Amish primary mode of subsistence is farming. Making them Horticulturalists. The Amish are farmers first they plant several crops every year depending on the season as well as women tending to gardens, the Amish feed themselves. A. According to Donald Kraybill (2001) the Amish have always been tillers of the soil and people of the land. B. When a young Amish couple gets married they are given a parcel of land by one of the fathers. This land is given so that the couple can get a head start on taking care of themselves and earning a living. C. The Amish people today do not use many modern day agriculture implements depending on the old ways to farm and harvest crops. III. The economy of the Amish is growing more complex. Where they were once mostly self-sustaining they are now finding it necessary to make and sell durable goods to supplement their income. A. According to Dr. George Kreps (1997) Tourism has not affected the core of Amish culture but it has had several lasting impacts. Such as traffic and crowds which make the Amish people shy away from certain areas because they do not like to interact with the common folk. B. Land has been harder to purchase for expansion due to rising cost. And the soil is no longer as plentiful as it once was. C. Amish now make furniture and other wood work items, and the women sew quilts and clothing to supplement the family’s income. D. Food is never sold or traded if a family can find another means of income. Food is reserved to fee the family. IV. The Beliefs and values of the Amish people are core in there society. They have been practicing these beliefs and values since the beginning of the Amish order which was sometime around the â€Å"1880†s. A. Holidays observed by the Amish re very religious during certain holidays the Amish people are more religious and family centered than any other culture. B. Amish people wear white clothes for a burial and they wear blue to a wedding. When a funeral occurs in the Amish culture there are no flowers, the coffin is plain wood, and there is no singing. A hymn is spoken, there are no eulogies. C. According to Charles Hurst (2010) the Amish have survived by being plain and depen ding on hardly any new technology and with limited help from outsiders. V. While the rest of the world has progressed with technology and change the Amish have also progressed with social change. A. The Amish travel still by horse and buggy only using a car to go on long important trips such as to a hospital or to see relatives in another state. B. All men in an Amish society still wear beards. C. They are still firm in there want to be separated from the world. And place important emphasis on simplicity and humility. D. They shun members who have been excommunicated E. They still use horse and plow to farm their fields. F. They have no internet or computers but they do use calculators. The Amish are simple people who live by farming, gardening, livestock and supplementing there income by wood working and quilt making. They choose to keep outsiders away from their lives. Their children are educated in a one room school house by another usually female of the sect. the young men help their father with farming and milking duties and the young women help garden with their mothers with cooking and watching their younger siblings. Some people may think they are wired or that they act like a cult but their simple way of life and there strong ties to one another has insured that the Amish will continue enduring for a long time. The Image of the Mother in Langston Hughes’ “Mother to Son”

As a child of the early twentieth century, Langston Hughes endured trying times. Hughes and his mother lived most of their lives in poverty. As a young teen, Hughes began writing poems about the world he saw through his eyes – a world of racial segregation and prejudice. This was the basis of many of his poems, and it was these poems that allowed him to influence the Harlem Renaissance. To him the image of the African American family is centered on the mother.The mother is the point around whom everything about the family revolves. She is indeed the epitome of the African proverb or specifically the Akan proverb that says:† The death of a mother marks the end of one’s family†. It is this image that permeates through Langston Hughes poem, â€Å"Mother to Son†. Although sometimes the father may share this role that the mother plays in the African American family structure, as portrayed in for example the movie â€Å"Pursuit of Happyness†, it is q uite rare.Single parenthood here is more often than not, about the mother who has been pushed into this horrible situation probably due to her husband’s imprisonment for one crime or the other, the sheer neglect of his family or his demise which might have been as a result of drug use or gun fights. A closer look at the poem reveals that in the African American family structure, not only is the mother mostly a single parent who is saddled with the financial burden of the family needs, but she is also a counsellor or a very strong motivational figure; she uses her experiences in life to guide the growth of her children.In the poem â€Å"Mother to Son† just as the title suggests, it is a mother's advice to her son. The words of this poem offer strong encouragement and a sense of hope in a harsh world. Her words offer a positive outlook despite the difficult climb. At one point, the tone changes as it becomes a bit sarcastic – she mentions that things get â€Å"ki nder† (kind of) hard, when actually it has been worse than she makes it sound. It appears as if she does not want her son to see so much of the bad, but to simply focus on what was yet to come.Life has not been a â€Å"crystal stair† for her, yet suggesting to him that those difficulties are, if not ultimately surmountable, at least worth struggling against and she is telling her son that it will not be easy for him either, but not to give up. Again, she is a disciplinarian and a â€Å"pastor† who ensures that her children grow both physically and spiritually into well accepted people in their society.She believes in the verse â€Å"Train  up a child the way he should go and when he is old, he will never depart from it†. She does not spare the rod when it becomes necessary. After describing the staircase of her life, the mother addresses the son by saying that he should not sit down or fall down just because his staircase is hard to climb. In the motherà ¢â‚¬â„¢s eyes, the son should never give up. Instead he should see her as an example because it wasn’t easy for her, but she never gave up. In the poem she says: So boy, don’t you turn back.Don’t you set down on the steps ‘Cause you finds it’s kinder hard. Don’t you fall now ____ For I’se still goin’, honey, I’se still climbin’, And life for me ain’t been no crystal stairThe mother again is a teacher; she trains her children even to the point of career choice. At only twenty years of age, Hughes wrote the poem â€Å"Mother to Son†. The poet's â€Å"mother,† who speaks in the voice of the African- American teaches him he need not abandon that tradition in order to write poetry. All poetry, she says, need not be about â€Å"crystal stairs. † It can have â€Å"tacks† and â€Å"splinters† in it, â€Å"and places with no carpet on the floor.†It need not conform to white c onventions in either form or subject — it can be â€Å"bare†Ã¢â‚¬â€œyet it need not ignore those conventions if they can be of use (In fact, the line, â€Å"And life for me ain't been no crystal stair† is written in iambic pentameter, the most traditional of English poetic meters). The poet discovers, from listening to his mother-muse, a way to bring the African-American experience into poetry. He finds a way to move forward, to keep climbing.We can read in this poem, then, a kind of metaphor for the young poet's artistic coming of age. From his â€Å"mother† he learns the value and power of his vocation. He hears in her song his own voice which is to serve as the source of inspiration or the starting point of his poetry career. Obviously, through his many literary works, Hughes sought to build up his community (family) of African-Americans by instilling in them a sense of pride and triumph.This theme was frequently applied to his works as he wrote to enc ourage his readers to fight the battle against racism. In this poem as represented by the mother, he had hopes of somehow making a difference, a difference in which the world could change from its biased ways. One may be distracted by â€Å"tacks† and â€Å"splinters† such as racial discrimination and sometimes circumstances may appear â€Å"Bare† but he must †¦Ã¢â‚¬Å".
